Do Grande e do Pequeno Amor (Of Big and of Small Love) is a work of fiction, half-photography and half-text, made in a collaboration between photographer Jorge Colombo and novelist Inês Pedrosa. The book, (Dom Quixote Publishers, Portugal) tells the tale of a couple that breaks up for good... and gets back together, and breaks up again, in an endless cycle. A study of life during perpetual wartime, and of the love that survives all battles.
Inês Pedrosa (b.1962) is a best-selling Portuguese author. Jorge Colombo (b.1963) is a photographer, illustrator, and designer.
This is a work of fiction; any smilarity to real characters is a coincidence. All images shot in New York between July and October 2005, using digital cameras Fuji FinePix F10 and F700. With Alexis Karl and Ken Weaver in the main roles, as well as cameos by Angela Harriel; David Slone, Esq.; Ruth Marten; Shazna Nessa; Emily Flake; Gary Panter; Hope Ginsburg. A big thank you to everyone, and also to Paul Moran, Christian Barthod, Mark Yoes, and Claire Weisz, for their precious help.
